Timeline of COVID-19 Restrictions in London

The following timeline provides an overview of the various national and local COVID-19 restrictions that have been in place in London.

  • First national lockdown restrictions (23 March 2020 – 3 July 2020)
  • Tier 2 “High” restrictions (October 2020 – 4 November 2020)
  • Second national lockdown “Stay at Home” restrictions (5 November 2020 – 2 December 2020)
  • Tier 2 “High” restrictions (2 December 2020 to 15 December 2020)
  • Tier 3 “Very High” restrictions (16 December 2020 – 19 December 2020)
  • Tier 4 “Stay at Home” restrictions (20 December 2020 – 3 January 2021)
  • Third national lockdown “Stay at Home” restrictions (4 January 2021 to present)
