Support for Exporters from the Department for International Trade
The Department for International Trade (DIT) in London provides a range of services to support firms to start exporting and expand into new markets. Services include:
Aid Funded Business
The Aid Funded Business service helps firms of any size and turnover to supply their goods and services to international aid agencies.
Business Risk Guides
DIT and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) publish regular business risk guides. The guides provide information on potential risks when trading in around 100 different countries.
DIT’s E-Exporting Programme supports UK retailers and brands to export their products overseas via e-commerce. This scheme is designed for retailers that are new to selling online, as well as those that already sell online but need tailored help to sell on multiple platforms and expand into new markets.
Through the programme, exporters can arrange a meeting with their local DIT office and meet a DIT e-commerce adviser. The adviser will provide specific support to help exporters overcome challenges and sell online.
DIT also provides an online tool that can help exporters find marketplaces that are most relevant to their business. It also provides information about how each marketplace works.
Music Export Growth Scheme
The Music Export Growth Scheme provides grants from £5,000 to £50,000 to independent music companies to support them with marketing campaigns when introducing successful UK music projects overseas.
