Resources and support for employers
The Mayor of London received £18.9m from the Department for Education in March 2022 to deliver the Government’s Wave 3 Skills Bootcamps programme in London in the 2022-23 financial year.
The Mayor of London’s Skills Bootcamps are free, flexible courses of up to 16 weeks for adults aged 19 or over.
Skills Bootcamps not only benefit Londoners, but can also help businesses to develop a talented workforce, build up employee skills quickly, improve productivity and recruit motivated staff.
The sectors the GLA has been working to support in wave 3 have included:
- Heavy good vehicles
- Health and social care
- Insurance (professional services)
Please see more about how Skills Bootcamps can benefit your business here or you can also contact email@example.com.
There are a number of Government programmes for employers who are considering hiring employees, offering work experience or upskilling existing staff. These include:
- T Levels and industry placements.
- Sector-based Work Academy Programme.
- Skills Bootcamps.
- Multiply numeracy initiative.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) refers to learning activities undertaken by professionals. CPD can help your workforce to develop and progress their skills, refresh existing knowledge and keep up to date with developments in their industry, sector or profession. It also brings benefits for employers, such as boosting staff retention and meeting skills needs within your business.
A range of providers and organisations offer CPD programmes, such as training and events. These include online training providers, local universities and specialist CPD providers.
