The Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) works with employers to ensure the engineering construction industry workforce has the skills it needs to meet the challenges of the future.
ECITB manages the engineering training grants programme, which pays grants to employers to subsidise training costs for their workforce.
Grant support is available for a wide range of training activities that improve the productivity and safety of the engineering construction workforce.
Areas of training covered by the grant include:
- Training for apprentices, graduate development and workers transferring across industry sectors.
- Craft/technician skills.
- Safety training.
- Leadership and management development.
- Competence assurance, such as vocational qualifications and technical tests.
- Project management.
- Design training.
Engineering construction employers can apply for the grant via their approved training provider, or directly from ECITB.
