Tax fraud scams

The Police Digital Security Centre (PDSC) has published advice to help businesses spot and avoid tax fraud scams. It sets out nine steps to help you identify fraudulent tax requests, as well as practical actions you can take if you think it’s a scam, such as:

  • Never open email attachments from unexpected or suspicious sources.
  • Report fraudulent emails, texts and calls.
  • Contact HMRC on a genuine phone number.
