Crowdfunding for Creative Projects

Kickstarter is a crowdfunding platform for entrepreneurs and startups that want to raise finance for new creative projects.

It supports projects in the following areas:

  • Music.
  • Publishing.
  • Games.
  • Food and craft.
  • Film.
  • Design and tech.
  • Comics and illustration.
  • Art.

How does it work?

To raise finance on Kickstarter, the first step is to set up a project, set a funding goal and deadline. People can then search for projects and pledge money to support those they like.

If the funding goal is achieved within the set timeframe, backers are charged at the end of the project. However, if a project does not meet its goal, the project will not receive any funding.

Kickstarter applies a 5% fee to the funds collected from successfully funded projects.
