Changes To Help With Ordering Test Kits for Early Years Settings

From Wednesday 18 August, the management of supply, ordering and delivery queries and issues is moving from the DfE Coronavirus Helpline to the NHS Test and Trace 119 helpline.

The DfE has said that following the launch of the online ordering platform this summer, NHS Test and Trace now manage all aspects of the supply, ordering and delivery of test kits, and therefore hold the direct relationships with the test suppliers.

As a result, from 18 August, if an education setting has any questions or problems around the supply, ordering or delivery of test kits they should contact NHS Test and Trace on 119. The helpline is open from 8am to 8pm for trace related enquiries (e.g. self-isolation advice) and from 7am to 11pm daily for testing enquires.

For all other enquiries about the rapid testing programme in education, settings should continue to contact the DfE Coronavirus Helpline on 0800 046 8687 (opening times: Monday to Friday 8am – 6pm, Saturdays and Sundays 10am – 6pm).
