Business planning
Welcome to the first section of our Guide – Business Planning. So, you have your fantastic idea, but don’t know where to start? It will often be the case that the best place to start is to decide how you are going to set up and run your organisation. In this section, we talk you through preparing a Business Case. This is a document you can prepare which helps articulate what you want to achieve, and how you think you can achieve it. There is a template for you to follow, so don’t worry, you’re not starting with a blank sheet of paper! You also have access to information on a whole range of structures you might use – are you going to be a charity or a limited company? Maybe a community organisation is right for you. We explain everything. Once you’re set-up, you might need to think about staff and registering for tax, or with a local authority – there are sections on some key contacts too.
