CRP’s Connect 4 Series: Session 1

This event is the first session of Cross River Partnership’s (CRP) Connect 4 Series and will include short talks from four expert speakers.

Jane Wong, Architect at DSDHA, along with CRP Project Officer Eleanor Marshall, will be launching guidance into highways and footways accessibility. This outlines recommendations to make fully accessible streets that do not just adhere to minimum standards, but also make a conscious effort to establish spaces that are generous in design. With the Mayor’s commitment to accessibility through strategies such as Inclusive London, the guidance contributes to the wider aims of Vision Zero, Healthy Streets and London’s green economic recovery.

Noel Shapton, Director of Delivering London, will be presenting on their latest initiative to reduce emissions and congestion through the consolidation of parcels deliveries in a dense locker network that respects all users of streets.

We will also be hearing from Jamie Eagles, Director of Place at Better Bankside, about the Green Logistics Centre. This new business micro-warehouse aims to improve access to street space through co-ordinating deliveries, limiting kerb-side activity as well as tackling poor air quality. Better Bankside members can redirect bulk deliveries to the centre, which the BID will store on a short-term basis, with the aim of turning weekly deliveries into monthly ones.
