This session will explore inclusive recruitment practices.

This online event from Heart of the City will explore how to break down the barriers of mental health in recruitment with Fast Track to Employment.
Fast Track to Employment
The Fast Track to Employment programme is running across the City and Hackney Community Mental Health teams. Their Employment Specialists are embedded in the clinical team to work with anyone who is looking to start or return to work.
The programme provides support in getting into, sustaining and thriving in the work place. A big part of its role is building links with local businesses to help breakdown some of the barriers participants can face in getting into work, so are always looking for inclusive and supportive employers to partner with.
About this session
This event will explore inclusive recruitment practices and how you can make minor adjustments to your advertising, selection and induction processes to help to build diverse and supportive workplaces. It will cover:
- Some of the barriers people with mental health problems can face in recruitment processes.
- How employers can address these barriers to help build a more inclusive workplace.
- The advantages making these changes can bring to your business.
- Some suggestions of how managers and employees in your business can be supported in this.
The session will be run by Catherine Warren, an NHS Occupational Therapist and Jean Din, an Employment Specialist from the Shaw Trust.
